Removing the Server 2008 R2 Windows Explorer Uninstall or Change a Program link

I’m trying to craft the group policy settings for the Citrix XenApp deployment I’m in the middle of and I think I’ve got it locked down the way I want it when I stumble upon a button at the top of Windows Explorer that I’ve never noticed before. It says Uninstall or Change a Program and when I click on it I am taken to the Add or Remove Programs tool.

Well damn.  That’s not good.  So how do I get rid of it?

A quick search on the interwebs brought me to this blog:

The change is simple enough.  Just update your user policy to enable the following setting:

User Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > Control Panel > Programs > Hide the Programs Control Panel

Problem solved. Thanks Robin CM!
